Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
In short: we use your information, including meal photos, only to run Platewise and improve it. We do not sell your personal information. You can access, download or delete your data at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how TRT Digital Info LLC (“Platewise,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the Platewise website and app (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password.
- Profile and preferences: your goals, eating style, foods you exclude, household size, cooking time and calorie targets.
- Meal photos and food logs: photos you take or upload for plate scanning, the foods and portions detected, and any corrections you make.
- Usage information: how you use the Service, such as features used, device type, browser, IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Payment information: payments are handled by our payment processors. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits of your card, but we do not store full card numbers.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account and provide the Service, including meal plans, grocery lists and plate scanning.
- To analyze meal photos and estimate calories and macronutrients.
- To personalize and improve recipes, plans and scan accuracy.
- To process payments, send receipts and remind you before a free trial ends.
- To respond to support requests and send important service messages.
- To send product updates and offers, which you can opt out of at any time.

3. Meal photos
Meal photos are used to identify foods and estimate nutrition. Photos may be processed by trusted service providers that perform image analysis on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of your data. Photos are stored in your private account and are never made public. You can delete individual photos or all of your photos from your account settings.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us operate the Service, such as hosting, image analysis, payment processing, email delivery and analytics.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or Platewise.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.
- With your consent.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used and measure the effectiveness of our marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.
7. Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, download or delete your information from your account settings or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion and to opt out of certain sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email contact@tryplatewise.com.
8. Health information
Platewise is a nutrition and meal planning tool, not a healthcare provider. Information you enter about your food and goals is used only to provide the Service and is protected with the same safeguards as the rest of your data.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect.
